Frequently asked questions
- Do you take broken furniture?
Sorry no. At the moment we don’t have the facility to fix items. - Why do you ask for information and photographs?
It helps us to understand the condition of items. As the cost of disposal of unsaleable items has increased we have had to become more cautious. Photographs allow us to see, to some extent, the condition of items.
Also the number and volume of items. This allows us to appreciate whether the donor is really asking for a house clearance, or donating a single item.
Finally, the type of items – on occasions people will contact us for a donation of clothing or bric-a-brac, which we would refer to our colleagues in the Donation Centre. - What areas do you collect from?
From Alfreton to Killamarsh, and Buxton to Shirebrook and all the places in-between. If in doubt please get in touch. - If you have another question please get in touch.

Every donation to and purchase from The Ashgate Furniture Co supports the work of North Derbyshire’s Ashgate Hospice.
