100k Challenge – good news story!

In amongst the doom and gloom of today – grey skies, snow forecast and Covid-19 – it was fabulous to receive a visitor into the furniture store today to present a fundraising cheque.

Olivia Kirkwood set herself a challenge in late October; she wanted to run 100 kilometres and raise £150 for Ashgate Hospicecare. When she set her goal she described herself as “possibly the most unfit person ever”! Since then she has run around 4 times a week clocking up 104 km.

Her fundraising target of £150 is well and truly beaten. Today she presented a cheque for £2,023.75 to Lynn Jones representing the hospice.
